Glisten & Glow ~ Birthday Quad

Hi everyone 👋  I hope you are all having a great new year so far! Today is Jill’s Birthday and to celebrate she has this fantastic quad available! In my opinion, these are the best G&G‘s yet ❤ Let’s jump right in because they are available today and you are gonna wanna grab them!

They are gorgeous aren’t they? I’m just going to show them in the order I swatched them. I ended up liking the first and second ones the most!

It’s Capricorn Season is a medium grey crelly loaded with a rainbow of UCC flakies and a strong pink/purple shimmer. If you catch it at the right tilt, the shimmer is also green. This one is so freaking awesome! Formula is absolutely perfect. All of the polishes in this quad are flawless really. I didn’t realize how much I loved grey polish until I had this on my nails. Especially with the rainbow of flakies happening. I could not stop staring at it and I put it back on as soon as my swatches were done. The art I did is the Capricorn astrology sign. I am very proud of it lol. I used 2 prefect coats plus G&G glossy and matte top coats for my swatch. It’s Capricorn Season will be $9.75 USD.

Thirty Eight & Great is a medium dusty purple crelly polish with blue UCC flakies and royal blue to aqua unicorn shimmers. Omg this one 😍 The blue everything against this shade of purple is to die for. The components of this polish were made to be put together. Flawless formula of course! 2 coats plus G&G glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. Thirty Eight & Great will be $9.75 USD.

38 Wishes is a ultra marine blue scattered holo with pink to purple UCC flakies, bronze to orange UCC flakies, and loaded with green to gold color shifting shimmers. I expected this to be sheer. I was super impressed and surprised when it covered fully in 2 perfect coats. The shimmer in this polish is very strong. I thought this was a duo chrome at first. 2 coats with G&G glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. 38 Wishes will be $9.75 USD.

1981 is a dark indigo purple to medium grape purple holographic thermal polish with blue shimmers and a sprinkling of silver holo micro glitters. Yup, gorgeous! The thermal shift is subtle but so very pretty. Thermals are so much fun. All purple lovers will need this polish in their collection 💜 Again, this polish was absolutely perfect. 2 coats plus G&G glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. 1981 will be $9.75 USD.

I have some awesomeness for you today! It’s Halloween so I have some Halloween appropriate stuff ❤ Let’s jump right in since today is usually such a busy day.

Full Cowl is a glow in the dark base with aqua glitters that glows aqua blue in the dark. It is inspired by My Hero Academia. The base is a tad milky looking because of the glow in the dark pigment. That same pigment also makes this polish a tiny bit thicker than usual. No big deal though! I used 3 thin coats for my swatch plus glossy and matte top coats. For the glow, I held it directly under my desk lamp for about 30 seconds. Full Cowl is $8.50 USD.

Next is Galactic Getaway. This one is my favorite ❤ This one is a tri-thermal polish with scattered holo that goes from a lilac, to a blue-violet, to a deep blackened plum. Fantastic formula for this fun polish 🙂 3 thin coats plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. If you look close at the second transition macro, it actually shows 4 colors ❤ Galactic Getaway is $9 USD.

LevelUP Lacquer ~ Star Wars Inspired Quarterly Box

                                                                        *Provided for review
                                                                        *Lots of pics

Hello! How is your holiday season so far? Have you finished your shopping? I have been super busy and am not even close to done shopping. Same as every year lol! I have some things to show you that may help you with your shopping for the nail lover in your life or maybe just for you…

The Star Wars inspired quarterly box from Ash, over at LevelUP Lacquer, will have 4 full size polishes and 1 bath bomb. I do not have the bath bomb for this post but I will give an update on IG when I have it! This box was up for pre-order but will be coming back later this month for anyone who didn’t get it 👍

First polish is For The Troopers. This polish is a white crelly base with black and grey hex glitters and a red, glass-fleck flash! For a crelly polish, I feel this one was easy to work with. Builds up beautifully with an even glitter pay out. I used 3 coats with a top coat.

with flash

The next polish is a jelly! Far Far Away is a bold blue jelly polish with different sizes of color shifting glitters. The glitters are just like the unicorn pee pigment. Soooo awesome.  I used 3 coats with top coat. This polish was nice and easy to work with.

with flash

Hope. I think this one is my favorite. Hope has a purple, gold, blue color shifting base with silver holo shreds. The first coat was a tad streaky but the second coat completes it. I used 2 coats with top coat.

with flash

Last, we have Rule Of Two. This one has a thermal base that goes from black to clear. It is a jelly base with red and black glitters and black flakies. I love thermals. This one is so bad ass!! Red and black together is just such a strong combo. This went on flawlessly in 3 coats with top coat.

As soon as these are available I will update this post and spread the word on IG and Facebook. Will you be picking up this box? I would love to do a twin mani with someone with these. Let me know! Have a great day 🙂

LevelUP Lacquer ~ Halloween Collection 2017

                                                                        *Provided for review
                                                                       **Picture heavy 😄

Who is ready for Halloween?? I have been ready since November 1st 2016!! Before we get started, I would like to take a minute to let you all know that Halloween is actually Ash’s wedding anniversary 💕 She was married to her best friend by Darth Vader. It had to have been the most bad ass thing ever! So, make sure you stop by any and all of her social media to wish her and her husband JC an Happy Anniversary!

Now we can move on to the polish! This year LevelUP Lacquer brings you an amazing trio; 2 thermal polishes and 1 glitter topper. Since this has tons of pics I will get right to it!
The first polish is Don’t Burn The Witch. This polish is dark grey when warm and grapey purple when cold. It has orange holo glitters, crushed glitters and micro holo shreds. LOVE this one! formula is fantastic and is opaque in 2 coats. All the glitters lay nice and flat. Halloween perfection in a bottle. My swatch is 2 coats with top coat.

Corn In My Candy? is the perfect name for this thermal! In it’s warm state it is a bright yellow. When cold, it gets to be a bright orange. The formula on this one is also exquisite but since it is a little more sheer it will need 3 coats or a solid color undie if you want it totally solid. This one is filled with tiny iridescent hexes. My pics use 3 coats with top coat.

Hocus Pocus is the glitter topper. I realize that the color I put it over isn’t exactly “Halloween” but, it really showed off the glitter. I will use it in an appropriate mani soon. This beauty has orange, purple, and green circle glitters, a mix of hex and square black glitters, and some micro glass fleck flakies. I’m not a huge fan a plain glitter toppers but I do like this one. It’s enough to cover nicely without looking too bulky. I used 1 coat over Sally Hansen Cuteapillar with top coat.

How do you like them? I am so pumped that 2 are thermals! The grey to purple has me all 💅💅💅
Now that my nails are pretty long (to me), the thermal stays in a constant transition!! WIN!! This collection is available now in Ash’s shop! Make sure to grab it up because they are selling fast. Let me know in the comments which one you like best 🎃 Stay close because Ashley has so much more to come 💗 Have a great fall day 🍁🍂

Honey Bunny Lacquer ~ Spring 2017 Supermodel Collection

**Provided for review and picture heavy!!

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend 🙂 The weather has been perfect! Well, here in CT it’s been nice lol. I got the mother of all nail mail on Friday so I have been swatching like crazy. First collection I want to share with you is the Supermodel Collection. This 5 piece set is brought to you by Deb, owner/creator of Honey Bunny Lacquer. There is something for everyone in this spread. There’s a matte, glow in the dark, thermal, and a duo chrome. I know that’s 4 lol. The 5th polish is a pastel shimmer. After the swatches I will give you pricing and release info and a code! For now though, let’s commence drooling.

Christy is a very soft lavender polish with subtle turquoise shimmer. It looks almost frosty with the super fine shimmer. She applied easily and evenly. I used 2 coats plus top coat.

Christy macro
This beauty is named Cindy. She is a super sparkly salmon pink filled with micro gold flakes. Cindy glows in the dark. This polish looked liked it would dry with a slight texture due to the amount of flakes but it didn’t! It was completely smooth. I did feel that the salmon pink shifted to more of an orange color for the same reason. Either way, she is gorgeous and has a strong glow!! I used 2 thin coats with top coat.

Cindy macro
Cindy glow in the dark

Claudia is next. She is a minty matte with a beautiful pink spark and shimmer. This polish is wonderful as is, but she really shines with top coat. Again, I used 2 smooth coats with and without top coat.

The 4th model in this set is Nadja. That just looks/sounds like a supermodel name, no? This polish is a blue-purple shifty beauty. It also has flakies that shift from blue-purple. When the polish looks purple, the flakies look blue. When the polish looks blue, the flakies look purple. It’s mesmerizing and very unique. For this one I used 3 thin coats with top coat. Super smooth application.

The last of the supermodels is also my favorite. Stephanie is a scattered holographic thermal polish that, when warm is a sheer-ish white, and when cold is an opaque cerulean blue. The formula for this one is absolute perfection. She also shifts with little effort. I used 3 thin coats to build up the white, then added top coat.

Hello! How are we all doing? I have had a rough few weeks. I deal with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and had quite the funk lately. If you dont know about actual clinical OCD I suggest you look it up. It’s exhausting!! But this is no time to whine. I have some awesome colors to show you today. These are not anything from collections. Just a few polishes that Ash made randomly. She looooooves to play with polish lol!! So lets get right to it.

Let’s start with Ebony Armor. This polish is practically a 1 coater. I used 2 coats because its just what I do. Its a dark gun metal metallic, almost black, with this amazing purple flash. It is very prominent in person but not as much in pics. Super smooth formula with minimal brush strokes. Ebony Armor in 2 coats with top coat. Just a quick reminder: The topcoat I use for all swatches and art is Glisten & Glow HKGirl  top coat. I will leave the link below for this as well!

Ebony Armor

Girl Power is next. Oh how I love pink… Ashley felt she didnt have enough pinks available so she made Girl Power. This is a bright pink leaning magenta with a gorgeous glass fleck flash. The formula on this one is perfect. I used 3 thin coats with top coat.

Girl Power

Girl Power macro

Fairy Blood. When Ash said she had made her favorite red ever, I took it with a grain of salt because she has some amazing reds. I was wrong, she was right. This red is magical.. The first coat is actually a raspberry color. It builds to red in 2 thicker coats or 3 thinner coats. Guess what I did? Yup, 3 thin coats with top coat. Holo micro glitters, holo shreds, its just amazing!!

Fairy Blood

Last we have Dream Weaver. This is a bright blue to a royal purple thermal polish. It has a subtle holo sparkle and it is filled with real silver flakies. The jelly base is soooo squishy! I used 3 thin coats with topcoat.

Joy Lacquer ~ Kinder Queen Collection

                                                                        *Provided for review

Hey guys! I have been sitting on these polishes for a couple months and I CANNOT wait to show them to you 🙂 The Kinder Queen Collection has 7 polishes that represent Joy’s daughter going into school. This collection will be available on September 9th. The theme for these are so fun. Let’s get right to it because there are a lot of pics!! I will be using Joy’s personal descriptions of each polish but also my own opinion of quality.

Josie Joy – “A rich iris purple linear holo with a subtle red/orange chameleon shifty-ness and a smooth finish.  In honor of her starting Kindergarten this year, Josie’s favorite color purple, is named after her in this school themed collection.” I used 2 perfect coats of this polish plus top coat. The red/orange shifty-ness came off really rosey to me.

PB&J Yay! –  ” This delicate looking polish is a shimmery taupe with a strong pink flash.  It includes copper brown flecks, and a few raspberry and grape chrome flakies speckled in. The base has a smooth “buttery” application, but is still a bit “jelly” to accommodate layering of the flakies.  PB&J is a classic memory for those who brown bagged it to school every day and this is my interpretation of the classic sandwich, represented in the most beautiful way possible!” All I can say is YES!! This is perfect for PB&J! 2 coats of perfection with top coat.
2 coats of PB&J Yay! with top coat

Crush on the Blue Eyed Boy – “A beautiful royal-blue violet with a sparkling jewel-like shimmer.  There is abundant purple and blue micro-flecks throughout the polish and dash of scattered holo dust that gives it an extra twinkle.  The one thing you remember most about your first crush is the color of his eyes and this polish was made to match a dreamy shade of blue.” This is such a dreamy blue polish. Of course the formula was flawless. I used 2 coats with top coat.

I Heart My Teacher –  “A linear holographic pink that’s fun and bright, I Heart My Teacher is even more beautiful when you notice the combination of subtle gold and lavender flashes that catch in the light.   Being a teacher takes patience, commitment and a huge heart and this is my tribute to the incredible people that make up the fiber of the education system.  Teachers, we heart you!” This one is extra special for me. My mother-in-law just retired as a high school English teacher. She is just as spunky as this polish so it was all to perfect. 2 coats of perfection with top coat.

Crocodile Tears – “In this iridescent micro-glitter-bomb top coat, the turquoise, aqua and emerald-green elements take several forms.  Multi-sized and multi-shaped holographic glitter glisten in sheer pearly base .  This aqua-blue shimmers with an opal-like finish. This ethereal top coat transforms any base color into sparkling drops of wonder.
Tears on the first day of school, it happens.  The kiddos might be crying crocodile tears, but once my kinder-queen is in class, mommy tears are going to flow for realz!” I love glitter toppers like this. It has taken me a very long time to appreciate glitter and this would have to be my favorite type of mix. The base is a shimmer base that shifts from blue, to green, to purple. It also has holo and iridescent glitters. Its not at all over powering though. I used 1 coat of Crocodile Tears over SinfulColors Chalk It Up with top coat.

Show and Teal Day – “A bright blue-green color that leans deeper emerald and has a light holo finish.  This bright teal is more than meets the eye because you’ll notice it pops with electric blue sparkles and shimmers with a bright green and gold flash. As a kid, the much anticipated Show and Tell Day was the highlight of our week and this polish is definitely brag-worthy.” This polish is one that you constantly stare at because it constantly shifts. So, so pretty. I used 2 coats with top coat.

Brand New Black Pack -” Brand new school year means a brand new back pack!
This is the thermal of the collection. A black to gray scattered holo with an intense galactic finish. When warm, the gray shows speckles of black holo microglitter and silvery lavender shimmers.  In the cold state, it’s a deep charcoal-gray that highlights the  reflective holo glitters, and again the beautiful scattered purple effect.  Just like the polish “fades” as it warms to you, your backpack might go from a shiny and new at the beginning of the year, to a comfy worn color by the last day of school.
Coincidentally when school shopping this fall, we were able to find a Jansport that could pass for the inspiration bag. We snatched it right up and I’m happy to share the picture of this classic bag, black with purple and pink galaxy print, matching the polish!” Thermals are my 1 of my favorite types of polish. This one is just awesome!! I used 3 thin coats for this one but it is totally doable in 2 coats. I also topped this one with top coat. Tons of pics to show transition and all that good stuff!

I love this collection. It is fun and vibrant and there is definitely a polish for everyone. I really feel that this brand needs so much more promoting. The polish is wonderful but Joy does so much more. I have already raved about the coffee scrub but I have also tried the coffee bar soap, cuticle serums, and a whipped hand scrub. Seriously top notch stuff. Please make sure you check out all of the links!! And please feel free to share my post 🙂  SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Dam Nail Polish ~ Summer Sunset Series

*Provided for review minus shipping cost
                                                                                 **Picture heavy

Hey everyone!! Sorry for my absence. Summer is always crazy around here. I also tried to blog on another site but I like this one better. So, here we are with a new to me brand of indie polish. Angie is the owner and creator behind Dam Nail Polish. Dam is her last name so its okay to say it!!! My girls love to ask for the Dam Nail Polish lol! I have seen this brand before but as you all know, polish money is always super tight around here. I was super excited for the chance to review some thermal polishes. Thermal for me is up there with holo. GOTTA HAVE IT! I will just be posting pics here but I am sharing swatches and videos on IG and I have a live swatch video on YouTube so make sure you check it all out!

First, lets take care of the review part. They all had the same formula being all crème polishes. The first coat was a little streaky. Make sure to polish carefully or you can easily cause bald spots. For each swatch I used 3 coats and top coat. Other than the first coat these are wonderful. The color change on each polish is so visible and fun. Let’s get to the swatches.

Cerulean Skies is the first one I swatched from the Summer Sunset Series and it got me really excited for the rest. This polish goes from a dusty grey-blue when cold, to a nude-grey when warm. Such a perfect combination of colors. I used 3 coats of Cerulean Skies with top coat.

Blushing Nudie is a pretty pink polish that when cold is a bright pink, and when warm softens to a very pale pink. Being a pink lover, I am more than happy to have a pink to pink thermal. I used 3 coats of Blushing Nudie with top coat

Exotic Horizon is next and this one is my 2nd favorite of the bunch. It is a grapey purple when cold and a bright orchid when warm. The transition in this polish is so bold. I really love the cold color. I could have kept my hands in ice water all day lol!! I used 3 coats of Exotic Horizon with top coat.

Lastly and my absolute favorite is Auburnt. This color is so very sensitive. It changes super easily. It was changing color just while holding the bottle for pics! Great quality! Normally I don’t care for either of these colors on their own. something about them being together though really makes this polish special. It is unique and flattering for everyone. When warm Auburnt is a mango yellow-orange color. When cold it is this mauvey, terra cotta, I don’t even know. It’s gorgeous though! A serious must have. I used 3 coats of Auburnt with top coat.

What do you think?? I really love the fact that they are simple cremes. It leaves so much room for art! I will be using these often. I actually wore all 4 on my vacation 🙂 Great staying power for thermal polishes. Here are the release deets. Pre-order is live now until September 1st or until sold out. They will be officially releasing on September 2nd. Individual bottles as well as the set will be available. Through the pre-order, the price for the set is $32.50 plus shipping. Make sure you follow and keep an eye out for all the beautiful swatches of this collection 🙂 Have a good evening!! Thanks for reading 🙂

Polish Addict Nail Color ~ Pretty Poison

Hi everyone! I did have a different polish for you today but I realized that the whole post would have been a complaint. Im not really sure how to approach the situation so I opted to bring you an awesome review instead!! If you follow my Instagram, then you already know that I recently bought Pretty Poison from PANC. And you also know I love it! Seriously. I have drooled over this polish since the first time I saw it. Only having 1 income really hurts my indie budget so when I saw that Laura added it to her last chance bin I had to fly! And because it was during the holidays I also got an extra 10% off of that!! Did I mention that this polish is a thermal? With shipping included it was less then $6.50! I am a little sad to say that the thermal does not work for me 😦 It came in the mail such a beautiful pink color because its cold outside. I let it sit for a day to warm up properly then I swatched it. I tried to take pics with the transition but even in ice water it just stayed white. That is actually fine with me because I love it so much either way! I am so super happy I got to get his before it was gone forever! This is 3 thin coats with HKGirl top coat.

Do you have this polish? I would love to see your swatches or nail art using it! Let me know in the comments how to find your pics! Links below!!
