LevelUP Lacquer ~ November ’20 PPU

*This polish was provided for review

Hey nail peeps. How was your weekend? Mine were just a bunch of days bunched together lol. My weekends are on Wednesday and Thursday. I did get some quality time with my girls though so that was really nice. Anywho, we have the November PPU coming up. Would you like to see what Ashley is bringing to the “Red Carpet”? Well for this inspiration it’s the purple carpet. Ash chose Taika Waititi’s red carpet look from Endgame. How freaking fancy right?! Let’s check it out.

image taken from google

Ragnarok & Roll is a soft light purple crelly polish with purple shimmer, black, white, and iridescent glitters in various sizes and shapes. This is such a delicate polish. The crelly formula is probably Ash’s best so far. And even better, this is her first polish using the new wide brush! What a dream. I absolutely loved working with this polish. You could get away with 2 thicker coats but I used 3 thinner coats for my swatches. Price $11 Cap 200.

Don’t you just love it? I love a soft purple this time of year. The pop of the iridescent glitter is such an added bonus. It’s always changing in different lighting. Polish Pickup will be open November 6th-9th only so don’t miss your chance for this beauty. Hope you all have a great week!

Taylor Made ~ Make Your Own Polish Kit

*This kit was provided for review

Hello! In my last post I shared that winter is my favorite season. Today I will show you a set of polishes I got to make with a winter theme! I am calling it my Girly Christmas Trio. Each polish was hand made by me from the Make Your Own Polish Kit. This kit comes with everything you need to make 3 bottles of polish. Let’s see what comes in the kit.

I will have my mixing videos on YouTube along with my live swatches. This whole thing is just so cool. It put me behind the scenes of one of my all time favorite things. So here is what I did. I read through the booklets to get an idea of how much to use of what, then I just wung it lol. I knew I wanted a red and a purple. The last one I just went with my heart. Let’s check them out.

Christmas Crush is a red jelly/crelly polish. After I read the amounts I accidentally added 1 less scoop of pigment. What I was really going for was a deep opaque red. I am not upset with what I got though at all! It’s a bright red with a pink undertone. It is perfect for Christmas time and that was my main concern. The formula is smooth and totally self leveling. I used 3 coats for my swatches.

Christmas Dreams is a medium blue toned purple with pink and blue shimmers. This turned out exactly as I was hoping! This is why the MYOP Kit is the best. Total customization. I knew I wanted a blue toned purple and I made it happen. Again, the formula is smooth and very easy to work with. And yes, I did use the right amount of scoops of pigment this time lol. It ended in a much more opaque polish. 2 coats for my swatches.

Christmas Magic is the lightest pink ever lol. Most of the time it looks white. I purposely did that because I wanted a white with pink shimmer and only the pink pigment had pink shimmer. I actually love that it kept that tiny touch of pink in the base color. I forgot to mention this so far but all 3 of these polishes stamp. For the art I only used this kit! I love me a polish that can multitask. This formula was a tad bit tricky with leveling. It just didn’t really want to. This could be a 2 coat polish but because of that little issue, I used 3 coats for my swatches.

This MYOP Kit was so much fun. If you want to whip up your own personal shade I highly recommend this. The only thing I think this kit could use are little option packs. Like a small bit of glitter to add or flakies or whatever could be added into polish. I also think it would be neat if they did holiday themed kits throughout the year. They don’t need these things. The kit was super fun on it’s own, just my thoughts and opinions 🙂 Each kit costs $39. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you! Make sure to watch my mixing and swatch videos on YouTube! Have a great rest of your week ❤

Sweet Heart Polish ~ December ’19 PPU

*Provided for review

Hello! How is everyone doing? Is your holiday shopping done? I haven’t even started lol! It’s been so busy around here. We have appointments related to the baby 2-3 times a week. We’ll get to the shopping eventually… For now, I have a gift idea for you! Let’s check out Sweet Heart Polish‘s contribution to Decembers PPU theme: Winter Is Coming!
You Sit On A Throne Of Lies “is a greige crelly base with gold flakes, taupe to green, blue to pink, and red to gold ucc flakes. It also has a copper shimmer with red and blue sparks that catch the light ever so slightly.”  This polis is inspired by the movie ELF where Buddy realizes that the store Santa is not the real Santa. Not gonna lie, I totally squealed when I saw the name of this polish. ELF is on repeat at my house until Christmas! Such a fun, family movie ❤ YSOATOL is the perfect holiday neutral polish. It’s got that wow factor but at the same time is subtle. I’m still wearing this mani right now. Super gorgeous. I used 3 thin coats for my swatches but you could totally use 2 normal – thicker coats. Formula was amazing. This polish definitely leaned more grey on me. It has more beige than my nail pics show. Check out the bottle shots for truest color. This polish will be $9.50 and will have a cap of 95 bottles for the US and 5 bottles for the UK.

LevelUP Lacquer ~ April ’19 PPU

*Provided for review
Hi! How are you doing this fine evening? I just watched The Walking Dead season 9 finale. Disappointed is an understatement. WTH! I expected some type of action. Well, let me show you something that is the complete opposite of disappointing. LevelUP Lacquer is back for April’s PPU and Ash nailed it ❤ She was inspired by this famous work of art.
Love Without Limits is a classic white crelly with mixed black and red glitter and a scattered holo shine. Formula on this was great for a crelly base. Plenty of glitter so no fishing. The glitter also lays nice and flat. 2 coats would work but I did add a 3rd just because I’m me lol. Don’t forget that glitter polishes are harder to remove so to make it easier use a peel off base coat. I used 3 thin coats for my swatches. Please be easy on my art. We all know that I am not an artist!!

Glisten & Glow ~ 9 Year Anniversary Trio

*Provided for review
Today is the day! Glisten & Glow has been in business for 9 years!! I started following in 2012 when I stopped biting my nails. Lots of things have changed since then but G&G remains a constant in my life. The top coat is my life line for swatching! Seriously. It makes all the difference in a great manicure. I’m actually not even sure if it was intentional but I absolutely love that the 3 colors here are the colors in the logo ❤ Ok, on to the polish!

~*~
9 Years & Nailing It is a black jelly polish filled with rainbow colored chameleon flakes and silver and purple holo micro glitters. This one is just so magical. Very opaque for a jelly polish. Wonderful formula as well. The flakies just seem to swim in the base. I kept turning my hands to catch all the sparkle. Super fun polish. I used 2 coats plus glossy and matte top coats. 9 Years & Nailing It will be $10.50.

Celebrating On Cloud 9 is a white based crelly with pink, black, and silver multi sized glitters. I love this so much! White crellys are not a favorite of mine but wow! So simple yet so stunning. Again, this is very opaque for a crelly polish. It almost could be a 1 coater. And what a great formula for a white polish! I used 2 coats plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. Celebrating On Cloud 9 will be $9.

It’s really a must have especially if you are a pink lover like myself!! This polish is a jelly base so I used 3 thin coats with glossy top coat for my swatches. You already know how I feel about matting holos… Raspberry Margarita 2.0 will be $11.

Wildflower Lacquer ~ March Birth Flower

*Provided for review
Hi!! Back again with Wildflower Lacquer‘s Birth Month Flower series. Each month there is a polish that was inspired by that months birth flower and this months is daffodil 💛 I have sooo much going on in March for special dates. Both of my daughters birthdays, my niece and nephew’s birthdays, and my wedding anniversary! Let’s have a look at what Taylor came up with for daffodils.
Delicate Daffodils is “a yellow base with rainbow chameleon flakies, gold flakies, and copper and yellow shimmer”. This is actually somewhere between a jelly and a crelly. The formula, as always, is fabulous. There is a visible nail line so if that bothers you, layer this over a yellow base color. It really is delicate. The flakies are ethereal and so so pretty. I used 3 coats plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. Delicate Daffodils will be $8.50 USD.

Quixotic Polish ~ September Polish Of The Month

*Provided for review

logo

Hi guys! We are getting close to September 🙂 My birthday is on the 1st so I am definitely pumped ❤ With a new month comes a new Quixotic polish of the month! Deciduous made its way into my top 10 polishes really easy. Keep reading to see why!

First, let me describe Deciduous for you. It is a warm, greyed out cerulean blue crelly with bright red/orange/gold flakies and subtle holo sparks. Now let me tell you why I love it so much. I saw this polish as so many colors in all different lighting. I saw just grey all the way to a deep turquoise. It’s not any type of multi or duo chrome but it has so many faces! It is seriously such a stunner. You just have to see this one in person! For my swatches I used 3 thin coats plus glossy and matte top coat. 2 coats will totally work if you polish thicker than I do.

Neons For Life!

Hello friends 🙂 Lately I feel like I just cant get enough neon! Neons will always be my favorite; but lately I haven’t really even looked at anything but my neons. I decided I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you! This will be picture heavy because I did different lighting and finishes. Let’s get right to it!
The first polish is Polish Addict Nail Color Candy Pop. This is the crelly version that I just won in a Random Act of Kindness giveaway! This polish is perfectly me. Literally Jenn in a bottle. for this swatch i used 3 thin and flawless coats plus topcoat. I cannot believe that I found a glitter packed polish that I really like!! Really, this is not neon. but it is bright and new so I wanted to share 🙂

Next one is a prototype polish from Drip Drop Nail Paint. It is number 1008. This is another amazing crelly and it does have neon glitter in it. Again for my swatch I used three thin coats and top coat. I also have a few more of Jessica’s prototypes. She makes great polish so go check her out! And the label is one of the cutest thing I have seen from any indie polish!

Next up is Cameo Colours Lacquers Hex-Sea And I Know It. This is such a gorgeous polish with so much depth! Its a bold blue jelly polish filled with, duh, hexes!!! Awesome neon ones 🙂 This one I matted for a few pics so you could see the layers of glitter better. Most definitely a must have!!

BLACKLIGHT GLOW SHOT!!!

The last one I want to show you is Honey Bunny Lacquer A Little Bitter. I had the hardest time finding a polish in my collection that would show off this glitter topper best. I ended up using a dark grey and an off white. i actually really loved the results of both. There are a ton of fun macros for this because everywhere I looked there were different glitters! Triangles, hearts and even the tiniest micro glitters. If you enjoy bright glitter in tons of shapes and sizes this is for you!! Take a look.

So, which is your favorite??

My True Love ~ True Blood Part 2

Hello everyone!! Are we all ready for the holiday weekend?!?! I know I am because my birthday is Monday and my husband has a full day of surprises for me!! I usually don’t like surprises but I am so ready for this one!! I will make sure to keep you posted since I still have 2 polishes from Black Dahlia Lacquer to review! Today I have for you a new collection from My True Love! Well, more like the second half of her True Blood collection. I am sure you already can imagine how this will go… Cherise kills it again with 6 new amazing polishes. And she just had her 4th child!! Talk about an ambitious woman!! Since I will be getting all 6 in this post it will be full of pictures, but I will do my best to keep the rest (starting now lol) as short as possible. First up, we have Eric. An iridescent glitter topper with a very slight touch of holo dust and micro, small, and medium red holo hexes. I swatched one smooth coat over black and an ivory color because this also has a green shimmer that is really hard to capture. I tried!!

The next polish I want to show you is Bill. Bill is a cobalt blue polish with a subtle micro holo to it. My husband loves this one!! It’s not quite as bright as the photos show, but it definitely stands out in the sun! These pictures are 3 coats with top coat. This crelly pulled a little on the first coat but was perfectly smooth and even by the 3rd coat!

Next up is Adilyn. This was the best formula in the bunch! 2 perfect, easy peasy, coats with top coat!! this is a charcoal grey with gold microglitters. just gorgeous!

Here we have Sookie. She is a very delicate, sheer, shimmer polish. For my swatch I used 4 thin coats on 3 of my fingers and 1 thin coat over a similar pink on my pinkie.the only time I could tell the difference was in the direct sun. I could see a BARELY visible nail line on all fingers but my pinkie. Not enough for it to be an issue. The shimmer is what makes me love it. I’m such a shimmer sucker!!

Pam will have a lot of pics because she is magical and deserves it!! Pam is a bright red jelly polish filled with different sized red holo hexes and holo dust. No matter how I tried I could not capture all of the beauty in one type of lighting! My skin color is a little off but its the polish you are here for right?? I used 3 coats of this polish and it was opaque. The squishiness of the jelly and the floating of the glitters made this polish glow from the inside!! Even without direct lighting! you will see what I mean.

They say to save the best for last, right?! Well, I totally did! This polish was like the never ending surprise polish. When i first opened the package i was like, “oooohhhh, I like this!!”. I thought it was a black jelly with metallic blue and green glitters. As I spun the bottle I was like omg! The glitters are holo! I decided i had to bring it to a sunny window to get the full effect. Once there I noticed it is a black holo polish with blue and green holo glitters!!! Holo heaven 🙂 This is by far my favorite of the set! I used 1 coat over black on my pinkie which was dumb because it totally built up in 3 smooth coats (as I have on the other fingers). As usual, wonderful formula!! MUST HAVE!!

This collection will be released on Monday September 1st so go follow for updates as well as a giveaway Cherise has going on right now!! Thanks for reading!! Go get you some polish 🙂 And don’t forget to congratulate Cherise on her new bundle of joy!!

Pipe Down this Love is Bliss

Hello again!! How are we doing on this wonderful Saturday morning? I am way more awake than anyone should be at this time but that’s why I am here. The other night I swatched polishes from a new Valentine’s day trio. The name of the collection is Pipe Down this Love is Bliss. Such a clever collaboration 🙂 In order all the polishes included in this title are Pipe Dream Polish, owned by April; Love, Angeline, owned by Natosha; and Bliss Polish, owned by Yvette. I absolutely had to have this trio and I cant even explain why. I was just so drawn to it. Probably because of the insane price!! $21 for 3 full size limited edition indie polishes!!! And not just any indie polishes, 3 of the top indie brands out there. So naturally I was beyond excited to get these 🙂 Before they got here I was most looking forward to Sticky Kisses from Pipe Dream Polish. This is a soft light purple crelly with medium pink metallic and matte glitters and dark purple metallic and matte glitters. All hexes in 3 different sizes. It also has the slightest shimmer. Such a beautiful polish!! Now, while I do love this one, I was totally amazed  by Love is Blind from Love, Angeline polish. It is the most amazing charcoal grey crème jam packed with  an amazing assortment of rainbow flakies!! I have a great macro shot of this!! And lets not forget the ever so important red polish!! A staple for most nail polish addicts. I am sure you have heard me say a red is a red. and then say why the red I am showing is an exception. maybe reds are way more versatile than I had previously thought. This jelly polish is the most jelly polish I have ever seen or used. it was almost a little goopy. most likely from the cold so I just added a few drops of thinner and I was good to go. Another jam packed flakie polish but this time its a flash of bright purple and some fuschia. Here, let me show you…

This is four thin coats alone. no top coat or undies

For Love is Blind I used three thin coats although it really only needed an easy breezy two. I did use top coat for this and I used a matte coat on my ring in the last two pics.

And last but not least is Sticky Kisses. For this I used three coats and top coat on all but my ring finger. again I matted that finger in the last few pics!

See the super fine shimmer in the macro shot below??? Super pretty!

Hope you like the polishes as much as I do!! 🙂
